Heaven's Halos
Meet the
Hot Stuffins
Showdown Extraordinaire
The Wonderfully Great, Epic Smackdown of Compassion in Pawpaw’s Yard
Heaven's Halos:
Blessie
Hot Stuffins:
Stuffins
Pawpaw lives in a city which might as well be called NoFaith, even though so called it was not.
This city also contained no‑good, rotten stuff with a fair bit of crazy hullabaloo, such as really not-at-all-necessary, oh-my-goodness, fire-sale-leftover baddies. And they, in turn, are filled with… you don’t wanna know.
Well, it just so happened that Pawpaw’s particular neighborhood was where a gang of little devils — unimaginatively called the Lil’ Debils — liked to hang out.
But on this particular day, the little stinkers were out chasing trouble — oh I don’t know, over there somewhere — and thankfully not in Pawpaw’s neighborhood.
So if your ear aches with silly disputations full of oh my words over who stepped on whose tail — even though they’re all guilty — that’s probably where they are.
Unfortunately, Heck's no-good all-female counterpart gang — the Hot Stuffins — arrived with all the subtlety of a parade imploding into itself, sashaying, strutting, and slinking into the void as though they owned it. Led, of course, by their namesake Stuffins, who believed her messy self was a fashion statement.
Regrettably, they don't seem to avoid voids, nor do they regret finding them. Perhaps they are drawn to them like kitties to stinky fishy-smelling smelly fishies.
Too bad they didn’t end up somewhere else — like between a gorilla and his banana. But alas, they ended up wrong‑side up in Pawpaw’s front yard instead. So, without further ado, let’s get on with this amusing yarn before I achoo.

Hot Stuffins
It was a lovely, beautiful, sunshiny day when, suddenly, the Hot Stuffins showed up — unexpectedly, right in front of Pawpaw's house. Not that they cared — they were far too busy arguing about arguments, and how, why, and when to not agree always.
And just when they were tergiversating with circumlocutions — and about to get into a knock‑down, drag‑out fussy fight — guess who just so happened to flutter down like flower petals from the heavens in the exact same place, with incidental circumstantiality?
Why, it was the Heaven's Halos! Heaven's little all-girl cream puffs, full of bright giggles and for-reals laughter. Glowing love shimmered through the entire neighborhood, wrapping everything in one great big all-over hug.
I bet you didn't expect that, now did you? Well, neither did the Hot Stuffins.
Naturally, upon their arrival, the Hot Stuffins gang nearly fell all to pieces at the very shock of their mere existence.
Brashina, the self-appointed loudmouth of the Hot Stuffins and utterly devoid of proper lady-like behavior, was — of course — the first to blather.
Brashina twaddled: “What have we there? A bunch of do‑gooders, full of pathetic blessings and worthless virtues! They’re stinking up the neighborhood, and right when we were about to fussy‑fight…”
Blessie, the cutesy, all‑too‑girly leader of the Heaven's Halos, glimmered: “Good we may be and of course full of grace, but smelly and pretentious we can never embrace.”
Brighteny, Blessie's over‑eager sidekick, alliterated:
“Oh my and oh goodness!
What a special sight!
Who would’ve guessed —
the Hot Stuffins out in the daylight!”

Brighteny
Temptina, the Hot Stuffins' gaudy little coquette, surreptitiously tossed glitter into the air for dramatic effect.
As of course she would, she blushed but good:
“Why, it’s us, of course — the Hot Stuffins — in the light of attention!”
She twirled her hair, and amiably purred:
“And let’s not forget me to mention — the most charmingest there be — in the spotlight of glamour as we see!”
Stuffins, the leader and namesake of the Hot Stuffins, jabbered:
“This place is ours! Your places are in the heavens above us, and our places are below us! I mean — below them, that is we’re below the above them… um…”
When Tattytell, the Hot Stuffins’ tattler supreme, heard their leader flounder, she quickly gabbled:
“You celestial cream puffs stay away from our territory! And go home now before I say something more derogatory.”
Blessie articulated most diplomatically:
“Let us maintain some centrality, for this is but a place of neutrality.”
Brighteny anxiously supplied:
“Our crossing paths this way is most unusual on this very day.”
Tattytell fluffed and tangled her hair, and then burbled:
“Do what we say or we will make you pay!
And my tongue I do display — in a most quickly way!”
And as Tattytell rudely and crudely stuck out her tongue most thoroughly, Sassy of the Hot Stuffins lashed out toward the Halos — specifically Glowie, Sharey, Wondera, and Blissy — with her attack of note:
the overly zealous “Sassy Slap,” consisting entirely of attitude and almost zero magnitude.
And though her target was sure, neither Glowie, Sharey, Wondera, nor Blissy were harmed in the least — save that Blissy’s halo went askew, but only for a moment, and then no.

Blissy
So Blissy of all joydom did sayout: “Sassy’s attacks are nothing but flustering, resembling Blusterina’s senseless blustering.”
Blusterina chirruped: “But I am full of loudness, boldness, and told-you-so-ness! See how dazzlinger I am with my glitters, sparks and embers!”
Blessie: “But my glitters and sparkles and bright-lots are naturals, and yours but imitationals. Glitters-nos, sparkle-lows, and bright-nots.”
Brighteny: “Reallys and for‑sures are Blessie’s declarations, and yours but upstarts and exaggerations. And unnecessarily besides.”
And our goodnesses, the battle between the Heaven's Halos and the Hot Stuffins did start — like a clash of poppycock and lollygags, of timbrels and trouts.
The atmosphere did shake and tremble; the air did smoke and sparkle.
Kitties did run, and bunnies did hop; puppies did dart, and squirrels did scatter every which way!
And the spiders? Well… they just lurked about, with a pout in their webbing, without a doubt.
🌟 Blessie’s Precision Strike of Pure Adoration
The battle between the Heaven's Halos and the Hot Stuffins had reached peak adorable chaos.
Glitter clouds. Halo squeaks.
One Halo trying to pronounce “Hallelujoodle” mid‑charge.
And then —
Blessie stepped forward.
Tiny.
Glowing.
Determined.
Her wings puffed like a marshmallow in a microwave.
Her halo hummed with righteous sweetness.
She pointed at Blusterina — the sassiest, sparkliest Hot Stuffin of them all.
Blessie: “Take that, you baddie!”
And she unleashed it:
A precision strike of pure adoration —
a concentrated blast of compliments, sparkles, affection, and pure too‑girly sincerity.
It hit Blusterina squarely on the nose.
Blusterina staggered.
Her glittery confidence wobbled.
Her sass levels dropped to critical.
Tattytell, standing behind her, was caught in the blast radius. She gasped so hard she dropped her entire bag of:
oh‑my rumors
juicy scandals
sparkly gossips
emergency backup scuttlebutts.
They spilled across the ground like confetti of questionable accuracy.
Tattytell landed on her backside with a soft pomf, glitter puffing up around her like a scandalized cloud.
Rubbing her bruised dignity, Tattytell did dare to divulge:
“Oh my scuttlebutts! Blessie, how could you!”

Tattytell
Blessie stood there, wings puffed, halo humming, looking like the world’s tiniest avenging cupcake.
She winked — the innocent kind that somehow feels like a threat wrapped in a hug.
Blessie:
“To sure, with love. May you learn your lessons and some mores!”
Tattytell froze.
Because somehow…
that made it worse.
Being smacked with affection was one thing.
Being smacked with affection on purpose was another.
Being smacked with affection by someone who meant well?
Unbearable.
Tattytell groaned and flopped backward dramatically, scattering three more scuttlebutts she didn’t even know she had.
Blusterina, still blinking from Blessie’s precision strike, staggered backward in a daze. Her glittery confidence had been knocked loose, her sass destabilized, and her nose still tingled with unwanted affection.
So she did what any self‑respecting Hot Stuffin would do.
She slinked off.
She headed north of Skedaddle and south of Gets‑outta‑here.
Her glittery tail‑end wiggled indignantly as she went.
Tattytell, still sprawled among her spilled rumors and scuttlebutts of dubious truthfulness, pointed after her.
Tattytell: “Blusterina! Where are you going!”
Blusterina didn’t look back.
Blusterina: “Away! There and overs!”
Blessie watched her go, hands on her hips.
With her wings stretched wide, Brighteny declared:
“May the light shine on your hidden shadows!”
Tattytell shook her fist, and looked for a scuttlebutt to toss.
But Brighteny said:
“Hit her with Compassion, Blessie!”
Blessie tried to whomp Tattytell with the biggest bonk of compassion a six‑year‑old cherub could muster — but missed entirely… …and hit Temptina squarely on her sass.
Temptina’s wings flared — and she nearly fainted.
Every bow untied. Every barrette bolted. Every frill frazzled.
Her eyebrows did a full dramatic wiggle.
And then she kerplopped with a kaplooey. If Temptina could count, she would be out for it.

Temptina
Tattytell: “I can’t believe you tried to—”
And that was as far as Tattytell got before Blessie, in a burst of overwhelming six‑year‑old cherub compassion, thumped her most thoroughly.
Because Blessie was ever so compassionate.
Before Brighteny could whack her but good with kindness and consideration, Saucy swooped in, grabbed Tattytell by the elbow‑ruffles, and the two of them flew off to tattletale on them to their older brother Confusion.
Confusion, of course, wasn’t there. He rarely is.
When the Hot Stuffins saw Saucy, Tattytell, and Blusterina depart, they might have run too — except their leader Stuffins stood her ground. And when she does that, well… she’s big and round.
So Brighteny looked at Glowie, Wondera, and Twinklebit — the shiniest of the Halos — and shouted:
“Girls, let’s shine so bright, we’ll put the day to flight!”
And they did too!
The four luminescent cherubs lit up the pretentious Stuffins so bright that she illumined like a star — so much so that she turned into smoke, fleeing without even an “Au revoir!”
Brighteny denoted:
“Well, how rude!”
When the Hot Stuffins saw their leader turn herself into a poof of timorous smoke, they scattered without convoke. To the winds, to the south, to the downstairs, and with all due haste… and undue precipitation as well.
For a moment our dear Blessie stood there astonished at the Hot Stuffins…
Blessie did admonish: “I am standing here thinking and blinking about the Hot Stuffins’ slinking. And besides myself and I, I wonder why they even try.”
Glowie: “I think we won.”
Wondera: “I think we ONE!”
The Halos merrily chimed with laughter that sings and swells,
while Cheery — such a deerie — delightfully rang her bells.
Brighteny:
“When doers of bad dare do dastardly designs but cannot, then all that is good and right wins — and that is a case most airtight.”
Glowie: “And amen.”
The rest of the Halos did concur, with noddings and affirmations as Blessie sermoned her opinions:
“I do ponder. Good friends help you do good things again and again. But foolish fiends help you get into trouble over and over. Either way—good or trouble—they make it double or over.”
Spider:
“Look at them laughing and singing, while my ears are still ringing.
And a note and a sigh — my dear web, it’s goodbye.”
So a surprise it is no,
that Wondera did hear that spider,
for that was so.
Wondera: Oh little spidey, your web is without a trace, so compassion you shall embrace, for I give you not a web but two — surely that will do.
And did you know that matters, these small details?
For little cherubs notice such things but small —
and when we read in these marvelous tales,
we can see these tiny miracles wonderful and tall.
For the rest of the day the Heaven’s Halos did play in a most sporting way. They did their singings and dancings and chased the breeze through the trees. All afternoon, they rumbled and tumbled like pillows in the willows.
And inside, dear Pawpaw —
a virtuous saint in all his ways —
thought he heard the most delightful commotion
of righteous nonsense of all his days.
Which put him right to sleep,
bringing glorious contentment in so deep.
Oh please pray for dear Pawpaw,
for with him such days are no and few.
As the night did approach,
the Heaven’s Halos did retreat —
to the skies, to the heavens,
and far above all things celestial —
leaving behind their trailings and smatterings
and lots of virtues
and immeasurable love.
And though she did not understand,
Blessie felt a heart warm and full of faith.
Blessie did sublimate:
“Oh, dear saint —may you find such days more often than not.”
She turned toward Pawpaw’s quiet house
and said a little prayer.
Blessie:
“Farewell good saint,
for your goodness is more than quaint.
For this is not really goodbye,
from now on I’ll have you in my eye.”
And the Halos did wonder:
was it the faith inside
that caused them there this day to abide?
And so it was,
with faith,
with love,
and with a little bit of childlike thunder.
“And so it was to be.”
